Frank Stadler was born in 1969 in Bavaria, Germany. During his studies with Helmut Zehetmair at Salzburg's "Mozarteum" he also worked with Ruggiero Ricci, Thomas Brandis, Franco Gulli and Ljerko Spiller. He was awarded a diploma "cum laude" as well as a governmental prize for excellence. Following his graduation he worked as a teaching assistant at the University Mozarteum. He is founder and leader of the "Stadler Quartet" which in addition to the classical repertoire regularly features music of the twentieth century. Stadler is the leader of the "Austrian Ensemble for Contemporary Music" (OENM), which has already won a high international reputation, and furthermore he has led the "Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg" since 1999. His performance of Mozart´s "Haffner Serenade" with this orchestra during the 1999 Salzburg Festival will soon be released on CD. Mr. Stadler has also performed with the "Bartok Quartett", "Klangforum Wien", "Camerata academica" and the "Salzburger Musici".
